Thomas D. Halket
Experience
Thomas Halket has over 30 years corporate and commercial experience in such areas as securities and business counseling, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, private financings and domestic and international commercial transactions. His technology and intellectual property transaction practice includes design and development contracts, licensing, equipment and hardware transactions, internet and e-commerce transactions, biotech and medical device matters, outsourcing, government contracts, supply chain and other commercial matters. He also regularly acts as neutral in complex commercial and international mediations and arbitrations and is a member of panels of the American Arbitration Association (including the commercial, large complex, large complex technology and IP and international panels), the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution (including the CPR Panel of Distinguished Neutrals and International, Technology, Biotech and Trademark Panels), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the World Intellectual Property Organization (Geneva) and Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (Hong Kong). He is a member of the New York and Massachusetts bars.
Background
Mr. Halket is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Fordham University School of Law where he teaches courses on international arbitration and business planning for technology based companies. He is also an Associate Member of Chambers, Tanfield Chambers, London. Prior to forming Halket Weitz, he was the partner in charge of the Commercial Technology Practice in the New York Office of Bingham McCutchen LLP and previously a member of Hughes, Hubbard & Reed LLP. He was also Assistant General Counsel of Engelhard Corporation.

Activities
Mr. Halket is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Chartered Arbitrator, a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators, a member of the London Court of International Arbitration and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators (London). He is the Chairman of the New York Chapter, Chairman of the Technology Subcommittee and member of the Practice and Standards Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; Chairman of the Technology Advisory Committee of the American Arbitration Association and Arbitrator Judge at Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition (Vienna). He has served as Chairman of the Section of Science and Technology of the ABA, the ABA’s Division on Ventures and Enterprise and Aerospace Law Division and the Subcommittee on Software and the Uniform Commercial Code of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is a former member of Task Force on IT in Arbitration of the ICC Commission on Arbitration. He is a frequent author and speaker on various topics relating to arbitration or technology and the law.
